Mapping creates the connections that power Gover's compliance tracking:
Mapping to Requirements
From a Control
- Open a control
- Go to Requirements tab
- Click Map Requirements
- Select requirements from any framework
- Confirm mapping
From a Requirement
- Open a requirement
- Click Map Controls
- Select existing controls or create new
- Confirm mapping
AI-Assisted Mapping
Let AI suggest relevant mappings:
- Open a control or requirement
- Click AI Suggestions
- Review suggestions with confidence scores
- Accept or reject each suggestion

Mapping to Risks
Link controls to the risks they mitigate:
- Open a control
- Go to Risks tab
- Click Map Risks
- Select risks from your risk register
- Confirm mapping
This shows:
- Which risks are mitigated by controls
- Control coverage for risk treatment
- Gaps in risk mitigation
Mapping to Documents
Attach evidence documents to controls:
- Open a control
- Go to Documents tab
- Click Map Documents
- Select existing documents or upload new
- Confirm mapping

Matrix View
See mappings across multiple controls:

Bulk Mapping
Map multiple items at once:
- Select multiple controls (checkbox)
- Click Bulk Actions → Map
- Choose target requirements or risks
- Apply to all selected
Best Practices
- Map comprehensively — Don't leave requirements unmapped
- Use AI suggestions — Save time with intelligent recommendations
- Review periodically — Mappings may need updates as controls change
- Document rationale — Add comments explaining mapping decisions
